THE FORCE
For years and years (before everyone had a podcast), I had a very successful global podcast on 12 different channels, at one point, a top hit on iHeart Radio. I have interviewed more than 500 professional women from the US and some in the UK.
After Conscious Inclusion Company folded because of this great wave of sexism and white supremacy in November 2024, I also stopped recording my “Wonder Women in Business” podcast.
Since then, I have been soaking in all the facts and revisiting the history leading up to where American women are today. I have determined that without a doubt, this country is as racist as always, but much more sexist than I previously thought. I have been overthinking (my superpower—ahem, a sign of genius) and have decided to start a new podcast. I want to interview women who are in public service all across this nation, from the local to the state level (not federal).
I commit to learning all about the issues in each woman’s district and asking meaningful questions — as a person trained in real journalism (me) should. These are some of the questions I’ll start with:
Leadership and Vision:
1. What inspired you to run for office, and how do your experiences shape your priorities as a leader?
2. What is the biggest challenge facing our community/state, and how do you plan to address it?
3. How will you ensure that your leadership style includes diverse voices and perspectives in decision-making?
Policy and Community Impact:
4. What specific policies will you champion to improve the lives of women and families in our community/state?
5. How will you work to ensure equity in areas like education, healthcare, and economic opportunity?
6. What is your approach to addressing issues of public safety while also promoting justice and fairness?
Inclusivity and Representation:
7. What will you do to ensure that underrepresented groups, including women and minorities, have a voice in government?
8. How will you engage with constituents and ensure transparency in your decision-making process?
Economic and Social Issues:
9. How do you plan to address the gender pay gap and support women in the workforce?
10. What is your stance on affordable childcare, paid family leave, and other issues that directly impact working families?
Climate and Infrastructure:
11. What steps will you take to address climate change and invest in sustainable infrastructure?
12. How do you plan to improve local/state infrastructure, such as transportation, housing, and broadband access?
Personal and Ethical Governance:
13. How do you manage balancing personal life and public service, and how do you set boundaries?
14. What values guide you in making tough decisions when there is no clear consensus?
Collaboration and Bipartisanship:
15. How will you build coalitions and work across the aisle to achieve meaningful outcomes?
16. Can you share an example of when you successfully collaborated with people who disagreed with you?
Closing Questions:
17. If elected, what legacy do you hope to leave at the end of your term?
18. What is one thing you would want every voter to know about you and your campaign?
