Doina Dumitru, PharmD, MBA, FASHP is currently Senior Director, Medical Affairs – Enterprise Medication Management at BD, focused on medication solution development & outcomes research initiatives. Dr. Dumitru has been with BD since 2016, initially as Director of Professional Services, Pharmacy Automation Solutions. Prior to BD, Dr. Dumitru served in various healthcare operations, clinical informatics, and clinical practice and leadership roles, including Director of Pharmacy at Memorial Hermann The Woodlands (near Houston, TX). She created the first multi-site pharmacy residency program in Texas, precepted and mentored PGY-1/2 residents in the Health-System Pharmacy Leadership graduate program, and taught pharmacy law, pharmacy informatics, and leadership principles at the University of Houston College of Pharmacy. Dr. Dumitru’s professional achievements include multiple speaking engagements and publications on pharmacy practice, leadership, and informatics, and she is the author of the book The Pharmacy Informatics Primer and a co-author of the landmark 2017 ASHP Guidelines on Preventing Diversion of Controlled Substances.
