Wonder Woman in Business, Dr. Alauna Curry a.k.a. "Dr. Alauna"

Dr. Alauna Curry, MD

In her own words…

I’m Dr. Alauna Curry and I want you to know, YOU ARE NOT ALONE. In fact, you are far from alone; we are all connected in trauma. Through this site, I hope to offer you an effective path to emotional, psychological, and spiritual healing. As a Board-Certified Psychiatrist, specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of complex psychological trauma and related mental health conditions, I have diagnosed and provided intensive trauma treatment for US Military veterans for the last 12 years.

After years of studying and teaching the most evidence-based trauma treatment interventions currently available, I began to recognize that psychological trauma was present at the core of any mental illness. Whether you realize it or not, you and someone you know is experiencing the debilitating and life-altering impact of individual and collective trauma. Once I understood the predictable patterns of thoughts and behavior, and the impact of traumatic experiences on a few specific brain systems, it becomes clear that these numbers significantly underestimate the prevalence of trauma. Trauma has a 100% prevalence rate.

Well that’s pretty depressing, right? Well, yes and no! Because this is an opportunity to get rid of the stigma of trauma once and for all! What is the point of feeling shame for experiencing something that every person is experiencing, and feeling alone in, simply because we are too ashamed to share our stories and reshape them in a healthy way! This is where empathy, specifically having the mental skills to look at any situation from the differing yet equal perspective of another Creator, combined with a deeper knowledge of our brain’s design, can free us from the oppressive, judgmental, and traumatic beliefs about ourselves that keep us stuck in a mindset that continues to recreate our most painful experiences.

My hope today is that this transformative information will trigger an 'Empathy evolution’ in healthcare and beyond and a catalyst for a healthier, peaceful human species on Earth. Welcome, let’s get to work. The path to trauma healing is Empathy Skills Practice™ and the work begins here.

Mrs. Twamley works with Parent Teacher and Student Associations to visit US schools from South Korea, to Europe to the USA.

Her latest STEM book is a leveled reader picture book called “Capturing Cow Farts and Burps.” This book shares the ways that scientists, engineers, and farmers are working together to make cows less gassy and sharing the science behind caring for our environment. Wonder Woman in Business, Charlotte Smith

Charlotte Smith -Life Design Coach copy.jpg

Charlotte Smith,

CEO & Coach Extraordinaire

Charlotte Smith started her career as an employment lawyer in the UK, acting for big named clients like Hilton and Expedia. She quickly rose up the ranks in her firm, and as Head of Employment, she was recognized in a prestigious 30 Under 30 Awards for her contribution to legal innovation and was the youngest at her law firm to be offered partnership.

What should have been the pinnacle of her career, inside she wondered is this it?

She was moving from goal to goal without truly savoring success. She was overloaded and didn't feel like she was living a happy & purposeful life.

A couple of days later her husband came home from work... with an exciting job offer of his own.  An opportunity in Silicon Valley California. Within a few weeks, they relocated. This was 2014.

Charlotte initially became a partner at a Bay Area creative agency, before moving into business coaching & consulting. Charlotte now lives a happy, and purposeful life as a certified Executive Coach and Energy Leadership Master Practitioner who helps lawyers and leaders leave overload and lack of fulfillment behind, to create lives of their dreams. And no – this doesn't mean quitting your job and moving to Bali.  Being a happy and fulfilled lawyer is possible, with the right support and guidance.

Charlotte brings her cross-functional experience to her coaching practice from her 15 years of being a Lawyer, Entrepreneur and Executive Coach.

She has valuable insight in legal, operations, digital marketing and business development, but believes that for individuals and organizations to move from GOOD to GREAT it all starts with a firm foundation of a limitless mindset and attention to well-being.
