HOMEIRA IZADI, MD

QUADRUPLE BOARD CERTIFIED PHYSICIAN

Dr. Izadi is a quadruple board-certified Medical Doctor (MD) with over 25 years of experience in a variety of settings from top medical centers where she had used the most advanced technology and been to war zones where her stethoscope was her only tool.

She is a writer and contributor for the Atherton and Los Altos magazines.

She is board certified from:

Her journey:

When she was young, Dr. Izadi fell in love with medicine and decided to continue her great-grandfather’s mission to heal people. She has been dedicated to helping others achieve their healthiest lives ever since.

As a child, she struggled with allergies and severe gastrointestinal symptoms. She was tested many times and told that she had Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and seasonal allergies, even though these diagnoses did not match her symptoms. When she went to medical school, she realized that IBS is only a fancy name to describe symptoms of unknown etiology, and mainstream medicine was not much help.

She began looking into Integrative Medicine through A4M (American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine) where she continued diving into the new field where conventional treatments met traditional and functional medicine. After searching among different groups, she found Cenegenics, the most reliable practice modality with emphasis on evidence-based medicine, not just personal opinions or experience. Dr. Izadi perfected the science of Integrative Medicine, utilizing a variety of platforms that work together for the benefit of the patient.

The first time she heard of topics like gluten sensitivity, the role of vitamin D as a hormone and many other lesser-known scientific facts was over fifteen years ago at an A4M conference. It took a long time for conventional medicine to dig into Integrative Medicine and accept it. Many patients don’t have time to wait for allopathic medicines to catch up on new approaches that are able to resolve their health problems.

Dr. Izadi was able to get rid of “allergy” symptoms, IBS, and severe GERD by just eliminating gluten from her diet. No more Zyrtec or Nexium...

Due to taking Proton Pump inhibitors (to subside the symptoms of GERD) and Gluten sensitivity (which decreased absorption of calcium and made her prone to bone fragility) she developed severe premature osteoporosis. Conventional medicine offered narcotics and surgery, but none had a satisfying prognosis. In fact, there was no long term follow up available after surgery. Conventional practices do not focus on long term prognosis and treatment.

Through Integrative Medicine she learned how to look at each patient as a whole, with their soul and body deeply connected, trying to treat the whole being in order to cure the root cause of the problem. Integrative medicine has much more to offer than traditional approaches, and each patient is treated as an individual with unique needs. Here they will be provided with different modalities to reach optimal health.

It is taught in medical schools to only find symptoms and treat them. Medical students currently have no special education regarding exercise, nutrition or genetics. Recently, some top medical schools such as UCSF, UCLA, Mayo Clinic and Harvard added integrative medicine to their programs.

Dr. Izadi is able to apply a diverse group of treatments from both the integrative and conventional world to assist patients in getting rid of health problems. Dr. Izadi uses multiple modalities besides embracing the power of the mind in relieving physical symptoms. She also has extensive training as well as experience in aesthetic medicine. Making people feel good inside and out is her passion.
