Some of Our Conversation…

SUSAN: When I asked Charlise what her proudest professional accomplishment was she said receiving her MBA while working full-time. It was hard work and she never could have done this once she had children. She has so much respect for parents who work, go to school and raise their families – all of it just takes so much time and focus. I agree.

I asked Charlise who her inspirational mentor was and she said Kathleen Flynn. Kathleen has really been a great mentor to her throughout her career. Though she has never worked with Kathleen directly, she has always helped guide Charlise in her decision making and helped her feel comfortable as she stepped into unfamiliar territory. Charlise really appreciates how honest Kathleen is and has really enjoyed her resilience during tough times. She also has always put family first, which as a mom is of utmost importance to Charlise, as well.

I mentioned that I personally have the strongly held belief that women should lift each other up. That said, I asked Charlise how would she advise women support other women in business? Charlise said:

I totally agree! Give each other a break. Be honest and real with one another; especially help people when they may have taken a misstep and direct them (kindly) back onto the right path. I may be generalizing a bit, but we are all human and we are all just trying to do our best each day. One day and one step at a time.

Dr. Liz Dobbins

Dr. Liz Dobbins spent over 20 years studying and practicing techniques which transform the mind, body, and spirit. Her roots began as a yoga instructor, which then moved me to becoming a specialist in Network Spinal (where she holds a doctorate in chiropractic). Her 10+ years as a chiropractor, transformational healer and coach led her to specifically study all aspects of the Feminine...her wiring, her expression, her spirituality.

She has been a catalyst for the transformation of hundreds of women from all aspects of life. From CEOs to performers, from medical doctors to stay-at-home-moms, from designers to teachers, she has helped women rise up into the next level of their expression, joy, and fulfillment.

She is a mother, wife, business owner, feminist, friend, creatrix, activist, and community builder. Nothing gives Liz greater joy than witnessing a woman rise. She is a champion and sister to all women.

A book that Liz is loving right now: “Untamed” by Glennon Doyle.

Amber Spencer

Amber Spencer, Head of Customer Development at Damon Motorcycles. Amber has a diverse portfolio of professional experience including marketing, social media, software development, and entrepreneurship. Prior to Damon, Amber founded a computer software company, Epicalls, and Flare Ventures, a technology consulting firm. Amber is a motorcycle enthusiast experienced at riding various bikes, including cafe racers, dirt bikes, and cruisers. She is a member of the WMRC Westwood Motorcycle Racing Club and placed 3rd in her first-ever race. Amber enjoys motorcycle road trips across San Francisco and the Duffy Lake Loop in Canada,  but prefers the track to put a powerful bike through its paces and fine-tune her racing skills. She aims to race the Damon Hypersport in the MotoE World Cup in the near future. Amber is also an award-winning fitness competitor and advocate for health and wellness.

Damon is the disruptor leader in the high-performance two-wheel vehicle market—unveiled at CES 2020 the company achieved the best Automotive Innovation and the Digital Trends Best of Show. Damon is leading a new era of transportation which will connect riders to cities and be used for commuting, deliveries, and supply chain for the retail, food industry, and other services.  There is a fundamental shift in how we will address these markets post-covid-19.

The company has pre-sold several hundred Hypersport HS and Premier models to millennials, who make up half of the company’s preorders. ….this is a big part of Amber’s job.

The Hypersport represents the first viable solution to bring millennials into motorcycling in a meaningful way. Damon’s preorder data has presented some surprising insights: many of its customers prefer to use motorcycles as their primary transportation as a means to avoid congestion and reduce commute times or due to a lack of available parking spots in modern condos
