Malur Narayan

Malur Narayan is a proven technology business leader having distinguished himself through his broad business experience in software, telecom, networking and IT products and services.

Malur is also actively involved with several startups as an advisor, investor, and a mentor – specifically as co-founder of BoardSeatMeet, an online platform for diversity in Boards, and with Webware.io, a toolkit to help businesses go online.

He has over 28 years of industry experience having worked in all five continents. He has held a broad range of senior management roles at Nortel and Tata ranging from sales, business development, product management & marketing, and product development/engineering. 

Malur was in a senior leadership role, reporting to the CEO of TCS, to bring TCS's technology solutions to benefit the Tata group companies — specifically digital transformation — including a Big Data Customer insight program. 

Malur pioneered self-managed teams in software development in the early 90s. His research in Reverse Engineering, Inverse resolution and Induction led to the introduction of Adaptive learning algorithms in Machine Learning in 1991.

Malur holds an undergraduate degree in Computer Engineering, a Master’s degree in Computer Science from University of Western Ontario, Canada and a MBA from the University of Ottawa, Canada. He began his career as a software engineer at Nortel.

He has been a speaker at several International business forums including EMBA programs at Cornell University, Imperial College of London, IIM-Ahmedabad and Queens University in Canada. He is known for his positive attitude, people skills, great sense of humor, and is immensely passionate about trail hiking/running, creating music, gardening and writing. He is actively involved in charitable activities for mental health care and awareness.

His story on building relationships and personal brand has recently been featured in a book titled “Get your Next Promotion”, by Manbir Kaur

Sonia Zeledon is the Director, Associate General Counsel, Ethics, Head of Compliance and Data Privacy, for The Hershey Company.  Previously, she held various positions at Nokia Corporations and worked at several Amlaw 10 law firms.  

Ms. Zeledon serves on The Hispanic National Bar Association (HNBA) Executive Committee as General Counsel.  She is a frequent speaker on compliance and privacy, including the biases in technologies such as AI. She earned a B.A. in Economics and Math from Wellesley College; she also holds a J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law.

Charisse Curiel, EMBA is a mom of two boys, a wife, and a marketing professional with nearly 20 years’ experience spanning several industries.

Currently, Charisse is the Digital Marketing Manager for Leopard Solutions, a woman owned law firm intelligence and attorney data company serving the legal industry. Leopard Solutions’ is the largest and most accurate law firm data platform with actionable intelligence and insights on over 4,200 law firms worldwide and 7,000 US corporate legal departments. One of the company’s latest product release is the Leopard Law Firm Index and the inclusion of a diversity tool incorporated into two legacy products, The Leopard List and Firmscape, also coming soon to Leopard In House. The Leopard diversity tool helps legal recruiters fill their talent pipeline with more women and attorneys of color; it also allows for corporate counsel and law firm management to keep an informed eye on diversity. Charisse joined Leopard Solutions in March 2018, managing all digital assets and creating almost all of the content for the company.

Prior to joining Leopard Solutions, Charisse was an account manager in luxury goods for nearly 15 years, as well as, the co-owner and marketer of a family-owned wine bar in Brooklyn. That experience further taught her to connect with people on both a personal and digital level creating a following of neighbors and community leaders that still attribute the rise of East Bedford Stuyvesant to the work she and her family put into creating a new business in a long forgotten area of Bedford Stuyvesant.

Rachel Barner is a global Business Executive, Corporate Counsel and experienced Board Member who brings the powerful combination of international perspective, legal expertise, strategic vision and financial acumen. A trusted advisor to and partner of top management and boards of directors, Rachel is valued for advice and guidance in enterprise risk, corporate solutions and global ethics.

As Executive Vice President, Managing Chief Counsel and Global Ethics Officer for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc., a financial and professional services firm specializing in commercial real estate services and investment management, Rachel advises and counsels senior management on all aspects of employment law and corporate litigation. She is relied on to evaluate business risks relating to commercial disputes, and she partners with business teams to reach operational objectives. As manager of a team of legal and non-legal professionals, she develops and manages the firm’s global ethics and compliance program, including strategy development, investigations and compliance enforcement, focusing on North and South Americas as well as Asia Pacific. She creates and conducts internal training and information sessions on topics such as ethics, harassment/discrimination, union avoidance and management, and operational compliance issues such as Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. In addition, she reviews/drafts client and third-party contracts related to employment relationships, coordinates response and strategy relating to external disputes and manages outside counsel on litigation matters. Earlier positions at the firm include Global General Counsel, Corporate Solutions Compliance and Executive Vice President, Chief Litigation Counsel & Global Ethics Officer.

Rachel also has served as an Associate Attorney for Littler Mendelson, P.C.; Vedder, Price, Kaufman & Kammholz, L.L.P.; and Seyfarth Shaw, L.L.P all based out of Chicago. She was a Law Clerk for the Honorable William J. Bauer in the United States Court of Appeals, Seventh Circuit, and for the City Colleges of Chicago, Office of the General Counsel.

Earlier in her career, Rachel was a Human Resources Consultant for Coopers & Lybrand, L.L.P., Human Resources Advisory Group, and a Management Consultant for Andersen Consulting, L.L.P. (Accenture). During college, she worked for the Chicago Park District as a Sailing Instructor through the Judd Goldman Adaptive Sailing Program for paraplegic, quadriplegic and other clients with disabilities.

Rachel has extensive board experience, including serving as the Board Secretary and founding member for Jones Lang LaSalle Americas, Inc.’s Global Environment and Sustainability Board. Responsibilities include developing internal company policy, assessing global energy and sustainability capabilities, identifying strategy for providing external business services to clients, developing internal environmental and energy-saving practices, and advising the global CEO and other senior management on compliance and other legal issues. She also was a Member of the University of Chicago Alumni Board & Chairperson of its By- Laws Committee, Member of the Lincoln Park Zoo Auxiliary Board and Member of the Lookingglass Theatre Associates Board. Currently, she is an active board member for Comer Children’s Hospital of The University of Chicago.

Rachel has been admitted to the Bar of the United States Supreme Court, the Supreme Court of Illinois, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and the United States District Court for Northern and Southern Districts of Illinois, Eastern District of Wisconsin, Western District of Michigan and Northern District of Indiana. She also is an active member of the Economic Club of Chicago.

She earned her Juris Doctor from DePaul University College of Law, where she was a member of the Order of the Coif (honor society – Top 10% of class) and served as Editor of the Law Review and was a published author. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social and Linguistical Anthropology from the University of Chicago, where she was a member of the Dean’s List, graduated with Academic Honors and was part of the Swimming/Diving Team.

When not working, Rachel and her husband enjoy showing the world to their 10-year-old son. She also is a competitive sailboat racer, long-distance road cyclist and whitewater kayaker.
